GPATS to Host a Series of Public Information Meetings on the Horizon 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan The Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study (GPATS) team will host a series of Public Information Meetings from July 15 to August 8 to share Horizon 2050 planning updates and draft transportation project concepts, and to gather public feedback.   These drop-in style Public Information Meetings will provide an update on the Horizon 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), review the feedback collected in round one, and project ideas. Attendees will also be able to ask questions and provide opportunities for community feedback on the information presented. The project ideas shared during this round of engagement are based on community feedback, technical analysis, and regional priorities.   There will be no formal presentations, and each meeting will present the same information. An overview of meeting times, dates, and locations are outlined below. Each potential road project is evaluated by the GPATS Study Team, comprising local planners, engineers, and other transportation professionals, in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The LRTP must balance economic development goals and strategies with community investments. This balancing act involves cooperation at local, regional, state, and federal levels. The last LRTP review conducted by GPATS was adopted in 2022.   Unable to attend a meeting in person? From July 15 to August 15, a virtual meeting will be available through the Horizon 2050 web portal. The meeting will be on demand and can be viewed at any time.
