PUBLIC NOTICE Date: July 2026 To: Building Occupants, Employees, Parents, and Students Re: The Knox County School System's annual Asbestos Notification. This annual notification is sent in accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), Public Law 99579 and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Rules for Asbestos Containing Materials in Schools, 40 CFR 763, Subpart E. This notice is to inform you that our schools contain asbestos containing building materials (ACBM). An AHERA management plan has been developed for each school and is submitted in accordance with AHERA which identifies the ACBM, the condition. and the response action (if required) for each school. You may find this plan and report in the Maintenance and Operations office of Knox County Schools. A copy is also available at the school for your review.
