Town of Barnstable Planning Board Notice of Public Hearing - Item No. 2027-008 Monday, August 10, 2026, 7:00 P.M.   AMENDING THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF BARNSTABLE, PART I GENERAL ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 240 ZONING, ARTICLE III DISTRICT REGULATIONS, TO REVISE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FRONT SETBACK REQUIREMENTS IN THE DOWNTOWN MAIN STREET AND DOWNTOWN VILLAGE ZONING DISTRICTS   The Barnstable Planning Board, acting under Chapter 40A, Section 5 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m in the James H. Crocker, Jr. Hearing Room located in Barnstable Town Hall, 2nd Floor, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA. The public may attend and provide comment in person. The purpose of this public hearing is to take comment on a proposal to amend the Code of the Town of Barnstable, Part I General Ordinances, Chapter 240 Zoning, Sections 240-24.1.6 and 240-24.1.7, to amend setback requirements for principal buildings in the Downtown Main Street and Downtown Village zoning districts.   A copy of the full text can be found on the Planning Board’s webpage under “Meeting Materials”.   The meeting will be televised live via Xfinity Channel 8 or high definition Channel 1072.
