Town of Barnstable Planning Board Notice of Public Hearing - Item No. 2027-009 Monday, August 10, 2026, 7:00 P.M.   AMENDING THE CODE OF TOWN OF BARNSTABLE, PART I GENERAL ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 240 TO AMEND THE ZONING MAP TO REVISE THE BOUNDARIES OF THE DOWNTOWN MAIN STREET AND DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ZONING DISTRICTS   The Barnstable Planning Board, acting under Chapter 40A, Section 5 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m in the James H. Crocker, Jr. Hearing Room located in Barnstable Town Hall, 2nd Floor, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA. The public may attend and provide comment in person.   The purpose of this public hearing is to take comment on a proposal to amend the Code of the Town of Barnstable, Part I General Ordinances, Chapter 240 Zoning, by amending the Zoning Map of Barnstable, Mass. dated September 1, 1998, as previously amended, as referenced in Article II, Section 240-6, to amend the “Downtown Main Street District” and “Downtown Neighborhood District” as shown on the draft map dated June 03, 2026, prepared by the Town of Barnstable Geographical Information System Unit, entitled “Downtown Hyannis Zoning Districts - Proposed Map Amendment Downtown Main Street to Downtown Neighborhood”.   A copy of the map can be found on the Planning Board’s webpage under “Meeting Materials”.   The meeting will be televised live via Xfinity Channel 8 or high definition Channel 1072.
