S+B James Construction is seeking subcontractor bids for the Stockton USD Cesar Chavez HS & Martin Luther King ES Fencing and Security project.
Project Description: Addition of fencing and gates at the front of the school and related site work to accommodate the campus improvements Trade work to include:Surveying, Concrete, Electrical, Earthwork, Landscape and Fence & Gates
Project Location: Cesar Chavez HS 2929 Wildflower Ln., Stockton, CA and Martin Luther King ES 2640 Lafayette St., Stockton, CA
Project Duration: April 2026 – July 2026

Project Labor Requirements: Prevailing Wage, Certified Payroll, Skilled and Trained Workforce as defined in Chapter 2.9 (Section 2600et seq.) of the Public Contract Code. There is a PLA on this project. S+B James is signatory to the Carpenters and Laborers Union. All scopes under Carpenters and Laborers must use labor from respective unions.
Contractor Pre-Qualification: Any MEP contractor seeking a subcontract must be prequalified pursuant to Education Code section 17406(a)(2)(C) and Public Contract Code section 20111.6(b) through (m). An "MEP Contractor" is one who will perform work that requires one of the following classes of license: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46. SUSD uses PQ Bids to prequalify contractors. Prequalification must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the RFQ/P due date and approved at least five (5) business days in advance of the bid date. Certified Business Enterprises Utilization: S+B James Construction and Stockton USD is committed to the utilization of DVBE subcontractors and suppliers on this project. Subcontractors will be chosen based on their ability to provide a combination of quality, efficiency, expertise, and cost-effectiveness. The goal of the best-value selection process is to identify Subcontractors who can deliver a project that meets or exceeds expectations in terms of quality, efficiency, and overall value. ALL BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON A PROJECT BID FORM AND SIGNED ITB FORM (INCLUDE BREAKOUTS) WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN BUILDING CONNECTED.
