Nadine (Edwards) Baker, a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida, will become our family’s first Centenarian when she turns 100 years old on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Mrs. Baker married her sweetheart, the late Rev. Banks H. Baker, in Sycamore Baptist Church, Sycamore, Georgia, on Christmas Eve, 1944. They have two sons: William (Robyn) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert of Jacksonville, Florida, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Known lovingly as “Granny” by her grandchildren, and the many children in her care over the years, she credits her long life to “clean living, serving in her church, gardening and staying active.” She also enjoys her daily newspaper’s crossword puzzle, and cheering on her favorite baseball and basketball teams, the Tampa Bay Rays and Orlando Magic.
Please join family and friends as we come together to celebrate her 100th birthday, and her life of service and family, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Jones Road Baptist Church, 2506 Jones Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32220. Please wear something purple, and bring lots of smiles, hugs and memories!
Birthday wishes may be sent c/o Jones Road Baptist Church.
