26072SS8 FORM 6 South Dakota Athletic Commission Notice of Public Hearing to Adopt Rules A public hearing will be held electronically, on July 31, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. (Central) / 11:30 a.m. (Mountain), to consider the adoption and amendment of proposed Administrative Rules of South Dakota numbered: §§ 20:81:01:01, 20:81:01:03 to 20:81:01:07, inclusive, 20:81:01:09 to 20:81:01:14, inclusive, 20:81:01:16, 20:81:01:17, 20:81:02:01 to 20:81:02:03, inclusive, 20:81:03:01 to 20:81:03:12, inclusive, 20:81:04:03, 20:81:04:08, 20:81:04:12, 20:81:04:13, 20:81:04:23 to 20:81:04:26, inclusive, 20:81:04:28, 20:81:04:29, 20:81:05:02 to 20:81:05:13, inclusive, 20:81:05:18, 20:81:05:19; 20:81:05:21, 20:81:07:02, 20:81:08:01, 20:81:09:01, 20:81:09:02; 20:81:09:06, 20:81:09:09, 20:81:10:01 to 20:81:10:03, inclusive. The effect of the rules will be to update and clarify current rules, including safety requirements for events and competitors, application and medical requirements for contestants, officials required for events, bout contract provisions, Commission disciplinary actions, and updates consistent with the unified rules of mixed martial arts and boxing; provide for the inclusion of inspectors as officials for events as set forth in Senate Bill 64; set the requirements for inspectors assigned by the Commission; and establish the parameters and requirements for a bout review by the Commission. The reason for adopting the proposed rules is to implement Senate Bill 64; update the rules to reflect the current policies and processes of the Commission for the safety of contestants, officials, and the public; and provide clarification on current rules for contestants, officials, and promoters. Persons interested in presenting amendments, data, opinions, and arguments for or against the proposed rules may appear in-person at the hearing, or mail or e-mail them to South Dakota Athletic Commission, P.O. Box 340, Pierre, SD 57501 or via e-mail to SDAC@midwestsolutionssd.com. The deadline to submit any such written comments for consideration by the Athletic Commission is July 29, 2026. After the written comment period, the Athletic Commission will consider all written and oral comments it receives on the proposed rules. The Athletic Commission may modify or amend a proposed rule at that time to include or exclude matters that are described in this notice.
