401 Water Quality Certification Application Public Notice
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION OF WETLANDS AND WATERWAYS PUBLIC NOTICE
Pursuant to 33.U.S.C.1341 and MGL c21 §43, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC) Application for the Barnstable West and North Bay Maintenance Dredging Project Maintenance Dredging Project, located in the Three Bays region of Osterville MA. The Town of Barnstable proposes maintenance dredging to restore navigation impaired by significant shoaling. The Navigational channel will be dredged to authorized depths of 11 ft MLLW (West Bay) and 8 ft MLLW (North Bay). All dredging will include a one (1) foot over depth which results in an estimated+/-37,299 CY of total sediments. Work will utilize barge-mounted mechanical dredging equipment, with sediments transported by scow to the Cape Cod Bay Disposal Site.
