All bids will be publicly opened and read at the specified time and date indicated above by the Owner or the Owner's designee.
THIS IS NOT A FULL PROJECT RE-BID. BIDS WILL ONLY BE RECEIVED FOR DOORS, WINDOWS, PLUMBING, AND LANDSCAPING. ALL OTHER DIVISIONS OF WORK RECEIVED ACCEPTABLE BIDS AND ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS ADVERTISEMENT.
Project will be bid per category by subcontract to the Construction Manager, Bayland Buildings, Inc., at Risk. This bid package includes limited re-bid scopes for the following two projects:
NEW CITY HALL AND POLICE STATION
Alteration of the existing 11,780 SF former bank building located at 208 Steele Street, Algoma, WI, into a new City Hall and Police station. Re-bid scope is limited to doors, frames, windows, glazing and plumbing throughout.
PUBLIC LIBRARY RENOVATIONS
Renovation of the existing 5,835 SF library located at 406 Fremont Street, Algoma, WI. Re-bid scope is limited to doors, frames, hardware, windows, glazing, plumbing, and landscaping.
All bids must be on a stipulated lump sum basis.
Bid documents may be obtained Wednesday, June 24, 2026 through Bayland Buildings (via Procore) and Builder's Exchange of Wisconsin (bxwi.com, Appleton Office), or by sending an email to Bailey Dingeldein at bdingeldein@baylandbuildings.com . The following information must be included in the email: requestor's name, company name, physical address, telephone number, and email address.
A pre-bid conference and on-site walkthrough will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 8:00 AM, starting at the main entrance of the New City Hall (208 Steele Street, Algoma, WI 54201). Following the new City Hall tour, the conference will proceed to the Algoma Public Library (406 Fremont Street, Algoma, WI 54201). Attendance is highly recommended for all re-bid trades and mandatory for plumbing contractors.
Each bid submitted must be accompanied by a bid bond prepared on the surety's standard form duly executed by the bidder as principal and having thereon surety company licensed in the state of Wisconsin, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the Owner via certified check or bid bond made payable to "City of Algoma" as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute and file with the owner within ten (10) days from notification of award. If the successful bidder fails to execute the required contract documents, the bid security shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquated damages. Attorney's-in-fact who sign bid bonds, performance bonds, labor and material bonds must file with each bond a certified and currently dated copy of their power of attorney. Failure to submit a bid bond will result in rejection of the bid.
The bidding and letting of Contracts herein advertised is subject to compliance with all applicable statutory requirements. The Owner is considered a qualifying exempt entity; therefore, Section 77.54(9m) Wis. Stats., Sales and Use Tax Exemption will be utilized on this project.
The City of Algoma and Bayland Buildings, Inc. encourage Small, Minority, Women's, and Labor Surplus firms to participate in bidding this project.
