ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS:
DEMOLITION AND ASBESTOS REMOVAL
The City of Sturgeon will be accepting separate sealed bids from qualified contractors for the complete demolition of 5 residential properties at the office of the City Clerk at Sturgeon City Hall located at 303 E. Station Dr. Sturgeon, MO 65284 until April 23rd, 2026, by 3 P.M., and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. NO FAXED BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED. No pre-bid meeting will be held and all questions must be submitted to Lincoln Brown, at Mid-MO Regional Planning Commission, at lincolnbrown@midmorpc.org by April 16th, 2026, at 12 PM.
The asbestos inspections for the non-hazardous structures to be demolished have already been completed; these reports are available to bidders. The city is bidding for asbestos removal, asbestos inspection during demolition on the hazardous structures, and demolition together. The asbestos inspector must be licensed. The demolition contractor must be licensed for asbestos removal or must partner with a licensed asbestos contractor. The asbestos inspector cannot also be the asbestos abatement contractor.
The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond,Performance and Payment Bond, and other contract documents may be examined at the following: City of Sturgeon City Hall, 303 E Station Dr., Sturgeon, MO 65284. Copies may be obtained by contacting ADS at 1400 Forum Blvd, Suite 7A, Columbia, MO 65203, Ph: (573) 446-7768, Email: orders@adsmo.net for a NON-refundable deposit of $50, (electronic or hard copy) and can be paid via credit card. The city reserves the right to waive any informality or reject any or all bids.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee equivalent to 5% of the bid amount. This can be secured by a bid bond or certified check and must be included with the bid.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as the conditions of employment to be observed and Section 3-DBE, Segregated Facility, Section 109, E.O. 11246, and compliance with the OSHA 10-hour construction safety course. Documentation of compliance with E-Verify is required.
No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of bid opening.
