ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for "VILLAGE OF MORTON FIRE STATION NO 2" will be received by the Village of Morton, hereinafter known as the Owner, until 2:00 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, at the Morton Fire Department Training Room, 300 W Courtland St., Morton, IL 61550 at which time Bids will be publicly opened, read aloud, and recorded.
Bids shall include labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services for completion of the entire Project under a single fixed-price General Contract, between the Owner and the General Contractor.
Every bid shall consist of two (2) fully completed copies of the Bid Form Documents and shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee consisting of bid bond, certified check or cashier's check made payable to the VILLAGE OF MORTON, in amount of five percent of total bid amount. Failure of bidder to submit an acceptable bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in amount to cover proposals bid upon is cause for rejection of his bid.
Bids which are mailed or delivered prior to the bid opening should be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly labeled "BID FOR VILLAGE OF MORTON FIRE STATION NO 2" and should be addressed to the Director of Public Works, Craig Loudermilk, at the Owner's listed address below. Bids that are received after the stated time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.
Successful bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, each in amount equal to 100% of contract price, within 10 days after prescribed forms are presented for signature. Surety on bonds shall be a duly authorized company acceptable to Owner.
No bid shall be withdrawn for 60 days after opening of bids without consent of Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to accept or reject any or all bids when in the opinion of the Owner, such action will service the best interest of the Owner.

The scope of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and generally consists of but not limited to the development of the property site and the construction of a new 11,000SF building supporting the Fire Department for the Village of Morton.
Pre-bid Conference/Tour: A Mandatory "Pre-Bid" Meeting and guided jobsite tour is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at 2:00 PM prevailing time, at the project site, 191 E. Queenwood Rd., Morton, IL 61550. A REPRESENTATIVE OF EACH BIDDING FIRM PLANNING TO SUBMIT A PRIME BID SHALL ATTEND THE PRE-BID MEETING AND PLACE THEIR COMPANY'S NAME ON THE OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE LOG. Bids submitted, from Firm's whose name does not appear on the Log, shall not be opened. The Architect and the Owner will not respond to questions orally regarding the Project outside of the Pre-Bid Meeting. All requests for clarifications or interpretations outside of the Pre-Bid Meeting shall be made in writing and will be answered by Addendum when appropriate.
It is anticipated the Village of Morton will award the Project at their regular August board meeting, on Monday, August 17th, 2026. The Architect will issue a Notice to Proceed with the Project following approval.

Bids on all work of this contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act" (Illinois Revised Status, Chapter 48, Section 395S – 1-12).
This project is TAX EXEMPT.

Bidders may obtain Bidding Documents from Keach Architectural Design Inc., through their online plan room found at keachplanroom.com, (309) 263-4545, a deposit is required for each set of Bidding Documents and shall be in form of checks for the amount for each set, made payable to Keach Architectural Design, Inc., or CIB-AGC Document Request/Security Cards. Bidders may receive a digital set of bidding documents through the online plan room. Registering through Keach Architectural Design's online plan room is required.
