ADVERTISMENT FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received from bidders by the CAJUNDOME at their Administrative Offices, 444 Cajundome Boulevard, Lafayette, Louisiana, 70506 until 3:00 PM, Wednesday February 11, 2026 for the following:
Cajundome Arena, 2 Elevator Replacements
444 Cajundome Boulevard
Lafayette, Louisiana
and will shortly thereafter, be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above-specified time for opening shall not be considered and shall be returned unopened to the sender.
The Work of the Base Bid generally consists of the modernization of (2) two of the (5) five passenger elevators and elevator machine rooms at the Cajundome (Elevators No. 3 and 5). The work will include the installation of new Elevator Hoist Equipment/Gripper Racks and associated Controller and Driver units in the associated Elevator Machine Rooms as well as the removal of asbestos-containing wall insulation and painting of the floors in the associated Elevator Machine Rooms. The subject Elevator Cabs will receive new Ceilings, Lighting and Control Panels. Replacements will also include new Elevator Call Equipment and Elevator Landing Position Indicators at each Floor Level. Related Electrical Work generally consists of disconnecting the existing equipment in the Machine Room's and Hoistways of Elevators 3 and 5, reworking and reconnecting the electrical as needed for connections to the new elevator equipment.
Additionally, Alternate No. 1 work shall be bid for Asbestos Abatement at Elevator Machine Rooms 1, 2, and 6 along with other miscellaneous work at Machine Room No. 6 to include repositioning and re-mounting that Elevator's Hoist Equipment in a new Gripper Rack including necessary disconnection and reconnection of electrical services to accommodate that repositioning. Alternate No. 1 also includes constructing new wire mesh barriers and shrouds at Elevator Machine Rooms 2 and 6. Alternate No. 2 work shall be bid to provide new Ceilings and Lighting for Elevators 2 and No. 6. Alternate No. 3 work shall be bid to include polishing of Hoistway Doors, Frames and Cab Door Returns as well as Cab Door replacements at Elevators 2 and 6.
General contractors (Prime Bidders), subcontractors and material suppliers interested in bidding shall obtain complete sets of plans, specifications and bid documents at the office of The Sellers Group - A Professional Corporation, Architects at 147 Easy Street, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506 (337) 232-0778 upon deposit of $200.00, plus a $15.00 postage and handling fee if applicable, for each set of documents. Deposit for the first set is fully refundable to all bona fide prime contract bidders, and a refund of $100.00 will be made for all additional sets to general contractors and to all subcontractors, and material suppliers upon return of documents in good condition not later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids. The deposit for damaged, incomplete, or late returned documents may be forfeited. Partial sets of documents will not be issued. As an alternative or in addition to printed plans and specifications, Contractors, at their option, may acquire an electronic copy (emailed in PDF format) set of plans, specifications, and Bidding Documents from the office of the Architect at no charge. Specifications and bid documents shall be available until twenty-four (24) hours before the bid opening.
A Pre-bid Conference will be held at the Cajundome on Thursday January 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM. All interested Contractors and Material Suppliers are encouraged to attend.
Each quotation shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond payable to the Owner, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the total amount bid (including alternates if applicable). If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U. S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with a least an A- Rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders' surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide.
The bid bond shall be issued by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana and countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond issuer as a licensed agent in this state. The certified check, cashier's check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder shall execute the contract, should it be awarded to him, in conformity with the contract documents.
The successful contractor will be required to execute Performance and Labor, and Material Payment Bonds in the full amount of the contract as more fully defined in the bid documents.
Contractors or contracting firms submitting bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more shall certify that they are licensed contractors under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 for the classification of BUILDING CONSTRUCTION and show their license number on the front of the sealed envelope in which their bid is enclosed. Bids in the amount of $50,000.00 or more, not submitted in accordance with this requirement, shall be rejected and shall not be read. If the contract price is less than $50,000.00, the contractor need not be licensed. Any bid submitted that does not require the contractor to hold a license shall state the exemption on the bid envelope. Additional information relative to licensing may be obtained from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements in accordance with LA. R. S. 38:2212(B)5. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214.
Each bid shall be submitted only on the Bid Form included in the Specifications.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all quotations or any portions thereof for just cause. In accordance with LA R. S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the invitation to bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
