AMENDED PUBLIC NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE pursuant to Section 303-a of the NYS Agriculture and Markets Law that the Chemung County Legislature is conducting an eight-year review of Chemung County's Agricultural District. The Agricultural District consists of 45,642.73 acres located in the Towns of Ashland, Baldwin, Big Flats, Catlin, Chemung, Elmira, Erin, Horseheads, Southport, Veteran, Van Etten, and the Villages of Horseheads and Wellsburg. A map of the district is available for public inspection in the Office of the County Clerk, 210 Lake Street, Elmira, New York 14901 during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Municipalities and landowners within the district may propose a modification of the district by filing such proposal with the Clerk of the Chemung County Legislature, 203 Lake Street, 5th Floor, Elmira, NY 14901 by February 15, 2026.
