CALL TO ORDER The Adel City Council met in regular session at the Community Room in the Adel Public Library, 303 S. 10th Street, Adel, Iowa on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Crannell called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL The following Council Members answered roll: Ockerman, McAdon, West, and Hawkins. The following Council Member was absent: Eric Trout. Staff Present: City Administrator Vick, Deputy City Administrator/Finance Director Sandquist, City Clerk Erickson, Assistant City Attorney Dustin Coffman, Public Works Director Overton, Community Development Director Nichols, Parks & Recreation Director Schenck, Library Director Jayne, and Police Chief Book. Consider Approval of Ordinance No. 439, Amending Chapters 105 & 106 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Adel for the Purpose of Adopting Local Regulations Related to the Municipal Landfill - Second Reading Motion by McAdon, seconded by Ockerman, to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 439. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. Motion by Ockerman, seconded by Hawkins, to waive the third reading and adopt Ordinance No. 439. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 7.b. Consider Approval of Memorandum of Understanding with Teamsters Local No. 238 to Modify Work Schedules of Police Officers and Detectives of the Adel Police Department Motion by Ockerman, seconded by West, to approve a memorandum of understanding with Teamsters Local No. 238 to modify work schedules of Police Officers and Detectives of the Adel Police Department. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 7.c. Seeking Authorization for City Staff to Issue a Notice of Intent and Request For Qualifications to Hire a Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Motion by Ockerman, seconded by West, to approve authorizing staff to issue a notice of intent and request for qualifications to hire a Construction Manager at Risk. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 7.d. Rapids Street Reconstruction Project Update 7.e. Consider Approval of Resolution No. 26-69, Approving Amending A Certain Address in the City of Adel, Iowa Motion by West, seconded by Hawkins, to approve Resolution No. 26-69. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous.
