Advertisement for Bids The Canton Union School District #66 will receive sealed bids from contractors at the Office of the Superintendent, Canton Union School District #66, 20 West Walnut St, Canton, IL 61520, for: 5901-416 Canton EV & WV Flooring Replacement - Phase 2. Eastview Elementary School, 1490 East Myrtle Street, Westview Elementary School, 700 Old Vine Street located in Canton, Illinois 61520. Bids will be received by the Owner until 3:15 pm, prevailing time, 02-03-2026, or authorized postponement thereof for the Complete Work. Generally, the work includes removing existing carpet flooring and installing new LVT flooring and wall base at various locations at Eastview Elementary School and at Westview Elementary School. The District will open and read aloud all bids immediately after the specified closing time. All bidders are invited to attend the formal opening of bids. Specifications and Drawings will be available by email from the Office of the Architect, Graham & Hyde Architects, Inc., 344 West Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinois, 61520, 309-647-2978 or via the following online PLANROOM address: https://www.grahamandhydeplans.com/. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to all applicable laws of the State of Illinois and the United States of America, including but not limited to the "Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act" and the Wages of Employees on Public Works (Prevailing Wage Act). All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is in the Proposal Form in the Project Manual. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid, made payable to the Board of Education, Canton Union School District #66. Bids not accompanied by a bid bond will be rejected. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by a duly authorized U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. The Contractor shall pay the premiums for these bonds. The Board of Education, Canton Union School District #66 reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held for this project on 1-21-26, at 3:30 pm starting at the main entry of Westview Elementary school.
