BOROUGH OF COLLINGSWOOD PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that on the 24th day of November, 2025 at 7:00 PM, local time, a public hearing will be held before the Collingswood Consolidated Planning Board ("Planning Board") at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 West Collings Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey, Camden County, at which time all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. The Planning Board will consider the application of Ashe Ember, LLC (the "Applicant") who is seeking approval of a use variance, along with any other necessary variances and waivers, for the operation of a cat café located at 557 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Block 15, Lot 5 (the "Property").
Applicant is proposing to renovate the vacant space to operate a cat café wherein they will sell premade foods and drinks. They will also have a cat room that will hold several residential cats which will provide the opportunity for patrons of the business to adopt them. Applicant intends to make minor interior renovations, i.e., new walls and counter space.
The Property is located within the Central Business District. Standards and regulations, including permitted uses, accessory uses, and conditional uses, for the Central Business District are found at Section 141-21 of the Collingswood Zoning Ordinance. As a cat café is not a permitted or conditional use pursuant to Section 141-21, Applicant is seeking a use variance to permit the business.
All documents relating to this application may be inspected by the public between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the office of the Borough Clerk in the Municipal Building located at 678 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey.
All interested parties shall be provided with the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing of the Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment on November 24th, 2025, at 7:00 PM and shall be entitled to testify before the Board and/or question the Applicant. The Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment may continue the application and you are advised to contact the Secretary of the Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment at the Municipal Building in order to confirm the date and time of the hearing.
