BOROUGH OF COLLINGSWOOD PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that on the 11th day of May, 2026 at 7:00 PM, local time, a public hearing will be held before the Collingswood Consolidated Planning Board ("Planning Board") at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 West Collings Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey, Camden County, at which time all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard. The Planning Board will consider the application of Mid Penn Bank (the "Applicant") who is seeking approval to reface signage on the structure located at 1040 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Block 62, Lot 2 (the "Property"). Applicant is seeking approval for several bulk variances, in addition to any other necessary variances or waivers, to allow for the continuation of pre-existing non-conforming conditions related to the signage.
The property currently houses a 1st Colonial Community Bank. Applicant intends to become the new tenant at the Property and will continue to operate a bank therein. In assuming control of the Property, Applicant is seeking to reface the current signage to reflect their colors and logo.
There are currently several pre-existing non-conforming conditions at the Property related to the signage. Applicant is seeking bulk variance approval to continue the following pre-existing non-conforming conditions:
a) Section 141-101(B)(7)—Sign Illumination (Direct external illumination is to be used for signage in all zoning districts with the exception of the Highway Business District. Applicant is proposing to continue internal illumination for the pylon sign and façade sign);
b) Section 141-101(C)(3)—Non-Exempt Signs (Applicant is proposing to alter and reface two (2) existing non-exempt signs whereas only one (1) non-exempt sign is permitted);
c) Section 141-101(C)(3)(b)—Sign Area and Lettering Height (A wall sign shall not exceed twenty-four (24) square feet in total area or lettering height of twelve (12) inches. Applicant is proposing to keep the same total area of 70.9 square feet for the sign with the lettering to be 12.25 inches in height and Applicant's logo to be 14.63 inches in height); and
d) Section 141-101(C)(3)(c): Freestanding sign area, sign height, and lettering height (Freestanding sign shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet in total area, five (5) feet in height, and six (6) inches in lettering height. Applicant is proposing to keep the total sign area of 35.5 square feet and height in excess of five (5) feet the same with the lettering height to be 8.75 inches and the Applicant's logo to be 8.5 inches in height.)
All documents relating to this application may be inspected by the public between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the office of the Borough Clerk in the Municipal Building located at 678 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey.
All interested parties shall be provided with the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing of the Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment on May 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM and shall be entitled to testify before the Board and/or question the Applicant. The Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment may continue the application and you are advised to contact the Secretary of the Consolidated Planning Board of Adjustment at the Municipal Building in order to confirm the date and time of the hearing.
