NOTICE OF PENDING ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following ordinance was introduced and passed by the Borough Council on first reading at a meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of Seaside Park held on the 16th day of October 2025, and will be considered for second reading and final passage at a regular meeting of the Borough Council to be held on the 6th day of November 2025, in the second-floor Council Chambers, located at Sixth & Central Avenues, Seaside Park, New Jersey at which time and place any persons desiring to be heard upon the same will be given the opportunity to be so heard. ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF SEASIDE PARK, IN THE COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING THE BOROUGH CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF SEASIDE PARK, SO AS TO AMEND CHAPTER 450, ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWERS"
Synopsis: Ordinance 2025-24 adds a standardized process to the Borough Code for water and sewer customers to request an adjustment due to a reduction in dwelling units. It states that "the property owner is responsible for notifying the Water Department of any changes in the number of dwelling units. For adjustments due to a reduction in dwelling units, the property owner shall submit a written request with supporting documentation, such as building plans, deed restrictions, and construction permits, to be investigated by the Code Compliance Supervisor and the Zoning Officer. Adjustments that are verified will be retroactive to the date of the request." It also states that "any adjustments to the number of dwelling units and excess usage charges shall be adopted by resolution with the approval of the Borough Council."
