BUDGET NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of School Directors of Bensalem Township School District, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, has passed a Proposed Final Operating Budget for the Fiscal Year commencing July 1, 2026 reflecting revenues of $192,301,913 and expenditures in the amount of $195,420,796 with the difference between the level of expenditures and revenues being addressed by a drawdown of $2,518,883 from the fund balance. Additionally, Grant Revenues and Expenditures pending receipt of awards are expected to total $3,005,925 for the fiscal year 2026-2027. The Proposed Final Budget is available for public inspection by appointment at the Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center, 3000 Donallen Drive, Bensalem, PA 19020 or on the district website at www.bensalemsd.org.
Said Budget contemplates the continuation of all or any combination of the following taxes:
Real Estate Tax 188.9474 millsReal Estate Transfer Tax of 1%Occupational Privilege Tax of $10.00Public Outdoor Parking Tax of $0.25 per transactionMercantile License of $25.00 and a Mercantile Tax of 1 mill or 1½ mills per dollar volume on annual gross revenue. Mercantile Tax resolution was amended to provide for advance payment in fiscal year 1996 and subsequent years.Business Privilege License of $25.00 and a Business Privilege Tax of 1 mill or 1½ mills per dollar volume on annual gross revenue. Business Privilege Tax was amended to provide for advance payment in fiscal year 1996 and subsequent years. Business Privilege Tax was amended to provide for payment due April 15 in fiscal year 1998 and subsequent years.Vending Machine Tax on all mechanical devices used for profit at an annual rate of:
$80.00 for each mechanical amusement device
$55.00 each juke box
$15.00 each vending machine charging over 5 cents
$15.00 each vending machine charging under 5 cents
$15.00 each service machine
The Board of School Directors will meet to adopt the Final Budget for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year on Monday, June 29, 2026 immediately following the Regular Action Meeting at 7:30 p.m. All meetings will be held at the Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center Board Meeting Room, 3000 Donallen Drive, Bensalem, Bucks County, PA. The public is invited to submit comment for public participation in person, in accordance with the public comment protocol as outlined on the district website. The public can access the meeting via livestream or on the district cable channels.
