Bremerton National Airport Improvements Draft Environmental Assessment NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY The Port of Bremerton (Port), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is soliciting comments on a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for Bremerton National Airport (PWT) to upgrade existing airport facilities in Bremerton, Washington. Construction of a future project would require FAA unconditional approval of the Airport Layout Plan pursuant to 49 USC § 47107(a)(16)(B) and FAA determination of eligibility for Airport Improvement Program funding in accordance with 49 USC § 47101-47144 and is therefore subject to NEPA. The Port owns and operates PWT, and in cooperation with the FAA, proposes four project stages (stages) to upgrade existing airport facilities at PWT, including: East Parallel Taxiway (Stage 1) Northeast Hangar Development (Stage 2) Fixed Base Operator/General Aviation Apron (Stage 3) Commercial Service Apron (Stage 4) The purpose of the Proposed Action is to provide adequate capacity to meet the current and forecasted growth of PWT. Additionally, the purpose would include addressing safety deficiencies as described in the Airport Master Plan to bring existing facilities at the Airport into compliance with FAA design standards and recommendations.
