Notice of Public Hearing
Proposed Home Rule Petition 2026-01
On January 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., the Cape Cod Regional Government (Barnstable County) Assembly of Delegates will hold a hybrid (in-person and virtual) public hearing on Proposed Home Rule Petition 2026-01 to the Massachusetts Legislature Authorizing the Establishment of a Regional Luxury Real Estate Transfer Fee. The public hearing will be held in the Mary Pat Flynn Conference Center at the Barnstable County Courthouse Complex, 3195 Main Street – Route 6A, in the town of Barnstable, and via Microsoft Teams. The hearing will be open to anyone wishing to testify or make public comments on the proposed petition. The full text of the proposed petition has been electronically distributed to the Town Clerk of each town in Barnstable County. It is also available on the Cape Cod Regional Government website. Instructions on accessing the public hearings will be detailed on the Assembly of Delegates Business Calendar for January 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. located at https://www.capecod.gov/county-government/meeting-center/. Written comments can also be emailed to owen.fletcher@capecod.gov before noon on the date of the public hearing. The County will also stream the public hearing and Assembly meeting live streamed on the County YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/BarnstableCountyVideo.
