The Grimes City Council Meeting was held in-person. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Scott Mikkelsen October 28, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Grimes Community Complex, 410 SE Main Street, Grimes, Iowa. When Ordinance 689 was approved at Council, it was not adopted by Polk County due to some incorrect legal descriptions. Since it is inactive, it should be repealed. Staff requested waiving the second and third considerations. DeCarlo Site Plan Assistant Planner Hoodjer presented the details of the proposed site plan including a 21,000 square-foot building, 47 parking stalls, and an asphalt milling for storage area. This property has received two variances to allow for the asphalt storage area as well as the reduced outdoor screening requirements due to the matured trees in the rear of the property.
