CITY OF BELMONT
RESOLUTION FIXING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON INTENT TO PERMANENTLY CLOSE STREETS PURSUANT TO G.S. 160A-299
WHEREAS, the City of Belmont is considering withdrawal from dedication of the 15-foot-wide public alley accessed on McLeod Avenue, and east of the intersection of McLeod Avenue and S. Main Street, pursuant to the provisions of Section 160A-299 of the General Statutes of North Carolina:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Belmont, North Carolina:
Section 1: That a public hearing on the question of whether the 15-foot-wide alley accessed on McLeod Avenue shall be permanently closed will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Belmont CityWorks building, 1401 E Catawba Street, Belmont, North Carolina.
Section 2: That a copy of this resolution shall be published in The Gaston Gazette, a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Belmont, North Carolina, once a week for four (4) successive weeks prior to the date of the public hearing.
Section 3: That a copy of this resolution shall be mailed to all owners of property adjoining the alley as shown on the county tax records, and notice of the closing and public hearing hereby called shall be prominently posted in at least two (2) places at the alley to be closed.
