CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 6 p.m. to include the second reading of the following ordinances in the Council Chambers at Fort Walton Beach City Hall, 107 Miracle Strip Parkway SW, at which time the City Council will consider their adoption into law. The ordinances in their entireties may be inspected online at www.fwb.org or in the office of the City Clerk during normal business hours. All interested parties are invited to appear publicly at the meeting to be heard by the Council in respect to the proposed ordinances. ORDINANCE 2194 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA; CREATING SECTION 5.04.33 OF THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE TO UPDATE PROCEDURES FOR THE REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF CERTIFIED RECOVERY RESIDENCE REQUESTS TO COMPLY WITH FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE ORDINANCE 2201 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A TEMPORARY MORATORIUM ON THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SHORT-TERM RENTALS SET FORTH IN SECTION 8.13 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES (CREATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2181); PROVIDING FOR FINDINGS OF FACT; PROVIDING FOR A SIX MONTH TEMPORARY MORATORIUM; RECOGNIZING PENDING LITIGATION OVER THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF SB 180; RECOGNIZING THAT THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE MAY CONSIDER A BILL MODIFYING SB 180 IN 2026; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR EXPIRATION OF MORATORIUM ON JULY 27, 2026; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
