CITY OF HAGERSTOWN, MD APPROVAL OF ORDINANCES Notice is hereby given by the City of Hagerstown that ordinances were passed and approved on October 28, 2025 and on November 4, 2025. The Ordinances are as follows: Ordinance No. O-25-15 – Amending Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the City Code to increase the maximum penalties for municipal infractions to $ 5,000.00 (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance No. O-25-16 – Amending Chapter 64, Building Construction, Article III, Property Maintenance Standards, of the City Code to increase the maximum penalties for municipal infractions to $ 5,000.00 (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance No. O-25-17 – Amending Chapter 185, Nuisance Abatement, of the City Code to increase the maximum penalties for municipal infractions to $ 5,000.00 (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance No. O-25-18 – Amending Chapter 232, Vacant Non-Residential Structures, to increase the maximum penalties for municipal infractions to $ 5,000.00 (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance No. O-25-19 – Amending Chapter 233, Vacant Residential Structures, to increase the maximum penalties for municipal infractions to $ 5,000.00 (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance No. O-25-20 – Amending the City Code by adding Chapter 234 to regulate vending machines in the City. (Ordinance effective November 28, 2025) Ordinance: No. O-25-22 - Amending the City Code by deleting Chapter 60-17.H – Speed Monitoring Systems in School Zones and replacing it with an amended Chapter 60-17.H to make the City schedule of fines consistent with State law, add a savings clause, and other consistent amendments. (Ordinance effective December 5, 2025) Each of the aforementioned Ordinances will become effective on the dates noted unless petitioned to referendum in accordance with the provisions of Section 209 of the Charter.
