CITY OF HIGH SHOALS
NOTICE OF SECOND PUBLIC HEARING
The High Shoals City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the High Shoals City Hall, 101 Thompkins Street, High Shoals, NC. The purpose of this hearing is to receive citizen comments about a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to be submitted by the City to the North Carolina Department of Commerce – Rural Economic Development Division (REDD).
The City is applying to REDD for $2,000,000 in CDBG funds to rehabilitate approximately 5 single family homes and to construct three new single family dwellings within the City. These funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. All funds must directly benefit low to moderate income households. No local funds are required for this funding request.
All interested persons are invited to attend this hearing. Persons with disabilities, non-English speaking persons or those needing special assistance to participate in this meeting should contact the City Hall at (704) 735-1651 at least 48 hours prior to the hearing, or the North Carolina Relay Number for the Deaf (1-800-735-2962) or Relay NC – 711.
