CITY OF JOHNSTON, IOWA; BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT (BOA) NOTICE OF HEARING The Johnston Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing at 6:30p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in the council chambers at Johnston City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Road, Johnston, IA, 50131. The following items are to be considered at this meeting: BOA Case No. 26-02: 8950 & 9050 Northwest 62nd Avenue is requesting the following items: The applicant is seeking a variance to Section 167.03.5.B.2 of the Johnston City Ordinance to allow for a 96 foot 8-inch ornamental church spire for their proposed Temple structure. The applicant is seeking a variance to Section 167.03.5.B.2 of the Johnston City Ordinance to allow for a 166 foot 4-inch ornamental church spire for their proposed Meetinghouse structure.
