CITY OF JOHNSTON, IOWA; BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT (BOA) NOTICE OF HEARING The City of Johnston Board of Adjustment will hold a public meeting on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M. and be held in the council chambers at Johnston City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Road. The following item will be considered at this meeting: BOA Case 26-04: Special Exception for Animal Keeping on Property Located at 6312 Northwest 54th Court Teirnan Kirk has submitted an application for Special Exception to Section 177.09 of the Johnston Zoning Code to allow for keeping of 6 non-domestic animals on property located at 6312 Northwest 54th Court. This allowance would be in lieu of the standard allowance of two (2) non-domestic animals. The application may be viewed at Johnston city hall during normal business hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. You are invited to attend the meeting.
