Monday, May 4, 2026, Common Council Chambers at South Milwaukee City Hall, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mayor Brett Briesemeister called the Common Council special meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 7 Alderpersons were present. MOTION by Maass/Olechowski to approve the Aldermanic Interview Guidelines and Ballot/Appointment Process as outlined in the City Clerk memo dated April 30, 2026. Motion carried 7-0. The Common Council conducted interviews for the Alderperson District 1 vacancy of Anthony Conde, Leah Minue, and Lynn Rosenquist. Candidate Eric Euteneier did not receive the email from the City Clerk requesting an interview. MOTION by Pieper/Olechowski moved to postpone the ballot process and confirmation of appointment of the Alderperson District 1 for the term ending April 19, 2027 until a special Common Council meeting on May 6, 2026. Motion carried 7-0. MOTION by Clark/Pieper moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:41 p.m. Motion carried 7-0 Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Common Council Chambers at South Milwaukee City Hall, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mayor Brett Briesemeister called the Common Council meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 6 Alderpersons were present. The meeting was prefaced with the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Brett Briesemeister thanked Assistant Administrator Katie Crosby for her many years of service and wished her well in her new venture. Citizen comment period was opened at 7:02 p.m. and closed at 7:03 p.m. MOTION by Bukowski/Pieper to adopt the following items in the consent agenda: a) Approval of minutes from the April 21, 2026 Common Council regular meeting. b) Acceptance of the resignation of Assistant City Administrator Katie Crosby, effective May 15, 2026. c) Appointment of Alderperson Michal Olechowski as Alderperson member of Plan Commission for term ending April 19, 2027. d) Approval of Temporary Class "B" Beer and "Class B" Wine license by South Milwaukee Lion's Club for the South Milwaukee Lionsfest event located at 16th and Rawson Avenues on July 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., July 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and July 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. e) Approval of Temporary Class "B" Beer license by South Milwaukee Human Concerns for the Downtown Farmer's Market event located at 11th and Madison Avenues on various dates in June-October 2026(actual dates listed on application) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Pieper/Bukowski to approve the Bucyrus Commons special event rental application for the MixMaster DJ festival event on June 6, 2026. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Pieper/Bukowski to approve the application for Producer Full-Service Retail Sales - Request for Unlimited Transfer Full-Service Retail Outlet by Ope Brewing Company for the Mixmasters MKE event at Bucyrus Commons on June 6, 2026. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Pieper/Bukowski to approve the application for temporary extension of license premises by James Moran, Moran's Pub, 912 Milwaukee Ave., for events on June, 12, 19, 25, and July 19, 2026. Motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Pieper/Bukowski to approve a resolution amending the 2026 Administrative Fee Schedule related to a street tree removal permit process for the public right-of-way and chipper and loader fees. Motion carried 6-0. No action was taken regarding the request by MARM Farm Education and Conservation Center to use the former Grobschmidt Senior Center for educational classes. Staff was requested to create a use policy and rental process for use of the Grobschmidt Center for future consideration. Economic Development Manager/Zoning Administrator Ericka Lang gave a presentation on the Bucyrus Grant Programs related to façade improvements, interior improvements, signage and new businesses and the Bucyrus Civic Grant Program and Awards. MOTION by Clark/Pieper to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. Motion carried 6-0. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Common Council Chambers at South Milwaukee City Hall, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mayor Brett Briesemeister called the Common Council special meeting to order at 6:30 PM. 7 Alderpersons were present. The Common Council conducted an interview for the Alderperson District 1 vacancy of Eric Euteneier. After one round of voting, the winning candidate was Eric Euteneier with 5 votes to appoint. MOTION by Bukowski/Pieper to confirm the appointment of Eric Euteneier as Alderperson District 1 for the term ending April 19, 2027. Motion carried 7-0.
