A request by Meredith Leigh of Shutts and Bowen, LLP, on behalf of Norton Museum of Art, Inc., for a Major Amendment to the New Norton Community Service Planned Development (CSPD), with waivers from the City's Zoning and Land Development Regulations, to allow for the expansion of the existing museum building with related improvements to the site, reconfiguration of the existing surface parking lot, construction of a proposed parking garage, and changes to the CSPD master signage plan.
Location: The subject property, consisting of approximately 8.52 acres, is generally located at 1450 South Dixie Highway, within Commission District No. 5 – Commissioner Christina Lambert.

Location: proposed amendments will impact properties located within the Broadway mixed-use district and the Currie mixed-use district.

A City-initiated request for an amendment to Chapter 94 Zoning and Land Development Regulations, Article II- Organization, Administration and Enforcement, adding Section 94-57- Request for Accommodations, Article IV- Downtown Master Plan Urban Regulations, Section 94-106, Article IX- Permitted Uses, Uses Permitted with Extra Requirements, and Special Uses, Section 94-273- Extra requirements for special uses or permitted uses to establish producers for requesting a Reasonable Accommodation for FHA and/or ADA reasons.
