CITY OF WORCESTER PROPOSED ORDINANCE
The City Council of the City of Worcester at a meeting held in City Hall on May 5, 2026 voted to advertise the following on a roll call vote of Ten Yeas and No Nays: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 12, SECTION 18 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF 2008 RELATIVE TO REPLACING DISTURBED PORTIONS OF STREET Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Worcester as follows: Chapter 12 of the Revised Ordinances of 2008 be and is hereby amended by deleting section 18(b) in its entirety and inserting a new section 18(b) as follows: § 18. Replacing Disturbed Portion of Street (b) The person or department so digging or disturbing any portion of a street, way, pavement or sidewalk shall be responsible for any settlement or imperfect condition of the same for sixty months after the same shall have been replaced as aforesaid, and in the event of their failure to keep the same in a condition satisfactory to the commissioner, the commissioner shall repair the same, and they shall pay for the expenses thereof in the same manner as for replacing the same.
