City of Asheville Public Hearings - January 13, 2026
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Asheville will hold the following public hearing at its regular meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the 13th day of January, 2026, in the Council Chamber, located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, located at 70 Court Plaza, Asheville, N.C.:
1. To rezone 13 Baldwin Street, further identified on the Buncombe County
tax maps and records as PIN 9657-59-9113, from Neighborhood Business
District to RS-8 Residential Single-Family High Density District.
2. To rezone 137 Broad Street, further identified on the Buncombe County
tax maps and records as PIN 9649-53-8527, from Community Business I
District - Conditional Zone to Community Business I District.
3. To consider amendments to Chapter 7 of the Asheville Code of
Ordinances, to strike Section 7-7-7 ("Waiting period for subsequent
applications") to bring the Unified Development Ordinance into compliance
with new state legislation.
NOTE: In considering any application for a change in the zoning classification of property, the City Council may rezone the property to a less intensive classification than was requested, and/or may rezone a smaller area of the property than was requested.
