City of Van Meter Special Council Meeting Minutes 1. Call to Order The Van Meter City Council met for a special council meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, VIA ZOOM. Mayor Herman called the meeting to order at 05:00 PM. The following council members were present upon roll call: Travis Brott, Joel Akers, Jason Barney (5:04 PM), Joe Lake, Jarin Young. Staff present: Interim City Administrator/City Clerk Travis Cooke. Others present: Marketa Oliver and Annette Eckhoff. 2. Discussion and Consideration a. Consideration of City Administrator Employment Contract Motion by Joel Akers to approve the City Administrator Employment Contract for Annette Eckhoff. Seconded by Joe Lake. On roll call, the votes were as follows: Yeas: Travis Brott, Joel Akers, Joe Lake, Jarin Young. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Motion carried 4-0-0. 3.
