DEIR Open House
Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Project
Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC
Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC (Algonquin) invites you to attend an upcoming DEIR Open House for the proposed Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Project. The public is encouraged to attend this Open House which will support public review and comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR), prepared per the requirements of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA), for the Cape Cod Canal Pipeline Relocation Project (EEA# 16947).
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is planning to replace both the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges, and for this important bridge replacement project to occur, Algonquin (and National Grid) must relocate existing pipeline infrastructure that currently delivers gas that is used to power homes and businesses throughout Cape Cod. As a result, Algonquin has proposed to relocate and rebuild its mainland Sagamore and Bourne natural gas meter and regulating ("M&R") stations and complete a mid-canal horizontal directional drill crossing to supply natural gas to two new Cape Cod Sagamore and Bourne M&R stations as a part of the Cape Cod Canal Bridge Relocation Project.
There will be graphics and displays regarding the DEIR and the public review and comment process, and next steps. All views and comments made at the Open House will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. Representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be present as well to answer questions relative to the Cape Cod Bridges Program.
