PUBLIC NOTICE OF NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Ordinance No. 102.7 of the Delhi Charter Township Code provides: Weeds and grasses in excess of eight (8) inches in height shall be prohibited on residential properties and on parcels of land along improved streets in common usage within the Township, to a depth of 165 feet or the depth of the parcel, whichever is less.
Noxious Weed shall include but not be limited to Canada Thistle (Circium Arvense), Dodders (any species of Cuscuta), Mustards (Charlock, Black Mustard and Indian Mustard, species of Brassica or Sinapis), Wild Carrot (Daucus Carota), Bindweed (Convolvulus Arvensis), perennial Sow thistle (Sonchus Arvensis), and Hoary Alyssum (Berteroa Incana), Ragweed (Ambrosia Elatior), Poison Ivy (Rhus Toxicodendron), Poison Sumac (Toxicodendron Vernix), or other plants which are regarded as a common nuisance.
Delhi Charter Township hereby notifies the public that noxious weeds shall be eradicated by cutting to a height of (8) inches or less. Weeds not cut by May 1, 2026 will be cut by the Township, as many times as shall be necessary, and the owner of the property upon which such noxious weeds are found shall be charged with the cost thereof and the Township shall have a lien against the land for the amount thereof. Refusal to destroy noxious weeds is a municipal civil infraction punishable by a civil fine pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 102.7 and 81.3 of the Delhi Township Code.
