Directors met in a regular session from 5:31–7:07pm. Board Chair Norris presiding.
Present: Alonzo, Campos, Dix, Knox, Martorano, Mayberry-Mayes, Norris
The directors approved the following items: 7-0
1. Approval of revised agenda
The directors held a public forum for speakers attending in person.
The directors received the monitoring report for Goal 1, interim goal 1a and interim goal 1b.
The directors accepted the report as providing evidence of compliance with a reasonable interpretation of Goal 1: 7-0
The directors received the monitoring report for Goal 2, interim goal 2a, interim goal 2b, and interim goal 3c.
The directors accepted the report as providing evidence of compliance with a reasonable interpretation of Goal 2: 7-0
The directors approved the following consent items: 7-0.
1. VOTE on All Consent Items
2. Approval of Minutes from October 21, 2025
3. Personnel Recommendations
4. OpenSciEd Elementary Science Curriculum Purchase
5. Final Acceptance of Various Projects
6. Retirement Incentives
The directors received an update on the reimagining education project. Superintendent Smith thanked the staff, students and community for their support in the bond passage.

Items of privilege:
Chairs Report: Norris acknowledged Ryan Howell and Sara Hopkins the two newly elected board members. Mr. Dix shard he had a nice interaction with East High students talking about reimagining education. Ms. Martorano shared a note of gratitude for the community. Dr. Mayberry-Mayes echoed the sentiments affirming the vote of the community, he also gave a shout out to the transportation department as he had a chance to do a ride-along recently. Ms. Knox expressed words of gratitude to the community, thank you for the reminder of why she loves the city, she is ending the four-year term on a positive note. She also shared the date for the annual DMPS Foundation dinner on April 16th and noted that at the last meeting the foundation approved the distribution of $30,000 directly to teacher grants. Ms. Campos said she recently attended a parent group at Michell preschool and shouted them out for the great work.
Superintendent's Report: Echoed everyone's thanks and wanted to thank the elementary and middle school teams on exceeding their targets, it's a team effort.
The directors adjourned at 7:07pm. Then the board took a brief break before moving into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5.1.c
