It has been almost 2 years since Dudley, our adorable apricot mini poodle, left us. Dudley was born Aug 27, 2005 at a farm in Maryland that also raised mini-donkeys. We went to pick him up thinking we would get his brother (based on a Polaroid sent to us), but when we arrived Dudley bounded out of the pen and showed us his outgoing goofy nature which we immediately fell in love with. He was an only child until his human twin sisters appeared 6 months later and he taught them many things, including if they were eating cheese how it had to be held overhead between bites (if the cheese swung down to his level, he gobbled it up). He loved car rides and long walks and went on many vacations, even making it to Houston and Toronto on separate occasions. He tolerated the arrival at age 7 of his baby brother Duncan, a red mini poodle. Dudley was the subject of 2 peer-reviewed medical publications (about his cat and environmental allergies being treated with immunotherapy, and his bizarre bladder lesions from embedded plant awns), and did well with his chemo for his small intestinal cancer that ultimately claimed his life. He passed on Dec 20, 2021 and we miss his sweet demeanor, his love of cheese, and his little ears flapping in the wind (whether on a walk, or in a stroller for his last year). We were honored to share his life.
