Scout Nicholas Torregrossa of Troop 24 in New Freedom was elevated to the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor on July 26th, 2025. Nicholas received his award from Troop 24 Scoutmaster, Justin Prajzner.
For his Eagle Scout project, Nicholas, son of Dr. Stephen & Alicia Torregrossa, constructed, renovated, and revitalized the play area at Christ Lutheran Preschool. Nicholas and his team of fellow Scouts, friends, and family completed the project in just over 170 service hours. This project will undoubtedly provide many years of safe enjoyment for the children attending the Preschool.
Having started as a Tiger Cub, Nicholas has been in the Scouting program for 10 years, has earned 38 merit badges, Gold, Silver, and bronze Eagle Palms, held multiple leadership positions, and is currently serving as the troop’s Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. Nicholas is a senior at Susquehannock High School where he is on the Track and Football teams and is in the Marching Band as well. He plans to join the military and become a pilot.
During Nick’s ceremony, he took time to thank all for attending and to those who’ve helped during his journey, including his Scoutmaster, parents, Scouts, friends, and family. Senator Kristen Phillips-Hill presented him with an Eagle Scout citation in advance of the ceremony.
