Gravity Drainage No. 1 REGULAR SESSION GRAVITY DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 1 of Rapides Parish June 2, 2026 The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish met in Regular Session Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at its regular meeting place, the Police Jury Committee Meeting Room, Second Floor, Parish Courthouse, 701 Murray Street, Alexandria, Louisiana. There were present: Mr. Ralph Covington, President; Mr. Michael Herron, Vice-President; Mr. Gregory Trotter, Mr. Cedric Green and Mr. Michael Bordelon, Secretary/Treasurer. Absent: None Also present were Mrs. Theresa Pacholik, part-time Bookkeeper and Mrs. Sarah Vidrine, part-time Administrative Assistant. Mr. Ralph Covington, President, welcomed all present and then stated that the Board was now in session and ready for the transaction of business. The President asked if there was any Public Comment on any Agenda Item, to which there was no response. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Herron that the minutes of Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish, as held on May 12, 2026 Regular Session, be adopted. On a vote the motion carried. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Herron to accept the Treasurer's Report. On a vote the motion carried. Motion by Mr. Green, seconded by Mr. Bordelon that approved bills be paid. On a vote the motion carried. Motion by Mr. Trotter, seconded by Mr. Green, there being no further business, the meeting was declared adjourned at 10:20 A.M. Ralph Covington, President Sarah Vidrine, Secretary PUBLIC HEARING GRAVITY DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 1 of Rapides Parish June 9, 2026 The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish met in Regular Session Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. for a Public Hearing. at its regular meeting place, the Police Jury Committee Meeting Room, Second Floor, Parish Courthouse, 701 Murray Street, Alexandria, Louisiana. There were present: Mr. Ralph Covington, President; Mr. Michael Herron, Vice-President; Mr. Gregory Trotter, Mr. Cedric Green and Mr. Michael Bordelon, Secretary/Treasurer. Absent: None Also present were: Josh Barrett with Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix and Hixson Mrs. Sarah Vidrine, part-time Administrative Assistant. Mr. Ralph Covington, President, welcomed all present and then stated that the Board was now in session and ready for the transaction of business. The President asked if there was any Public Comment on any Agenda Item, to which there was no response. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Green to hold a public hearing of the Gravity Drainage District No. 1 in Rapides Parish to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year's maximum. On vote the motion carried. There were no comments. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Trotter to close public hearing. On a vote the motion carried to close hearing. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Herron that the minutes of Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of Rapides Parish, as held on June 2, 2026 Regular Session, be adopted. On a vote the motion carried. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Trotter the following resolution was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 1 BE IT RESOLVED, by the Gravity Drainage District No. 1 of the Parish of Rapides, Louisiana, in a public meeting held on June 9, 2026, which meeting was conducted in accordance with the Open Meetings Law and the additional requirements of Article VII, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B), that the following adjusted millage rates be and they are hereby levied upon the dollar of the assessed valuation of all property subject to ad valorem taxation within said Parish for the year 2026, for the purpose of raising revenue: MILLAGE Maintenance 1.01 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Assessor of the Parish of Rapides, shall extend upon the assessment roll for the year 2026 the taxes herein levied, and the tax collector of said Parish shall collect and remit the same to said taxing authority in accordance with law. The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes: YEAS: Bordelon, Covington, Green, Trotter, Herron NAYS: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None Next, the Board received an update from Mr. Josh Barrett with Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix and Hixson Engineers (MML&H) on various ongoing projects. Mr. Barrett gave report. Discussion ensued. Motion by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. Herron to accept the Engineers Report. On vote the motion carried.
