IDEAL HOME CARE NOTIFIES
INDIVIDUALS OF VENDOR DATA BREACH
Ideal Home Care, a provider of compassionate, skiiled home health, hospice, and Medicaid Advantage services for families across Oklahoma, announced today that it is mailing letters to patients whose information was impacted by a recent data security incident involving one of its vendors, Doctor Alliance. The security of patient information is important to Ideal Home Care and it wants to ensure that patients are aware of the incident and the steps they can take to protect themselves.
Doctor Alliance is a healthcare technology firm that provides a software platform physicians use to review and sign clinical documentation. The Doctor Alliance platform is used by medical organizations across the country, many of whom were affected by this incident. On January 12, 2026, Doctor Alliance notified Ideal Home Care that an unauthorized party had accessed documents through the Doctor Alliance web portal, including documents pertaining to Ideal Home Care patients.
According to Doctor Alliance, this unauthorized access occurred between October 31, 2025, and November 17, 2025. Publicly available information regarding this incident indicates that some of the information accessed during this incident was further disclosed by the unauthorized party. However, Doctor Alliance denied any knowledge that the information had been further disclosed.
Based on the information provided by Doctor Alliance, the types of data accessed by the unauthorized party could have included patient names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, dates of care, and diagnosis and treatment information. The documentation in the Doctor Alliance platform regarding our patients did not not include Social Security numbers or any financial account numbers, so those types of data were not involved.
Since becoming aware of the incident, Ideal Home Care conducted a thorough investigation, which included seeking relevant information from Doctor Alliance and working with advisors with expertise in handling incidents of this nature. Doctor Alliance stated that they have taken several steps to strengthen their security following the incidents, including enhancing access controls, expanding monitoring capabilities, and strengthening detection, logging, and alerting measures.
Based on the nature of the information involved, Ideal Home Care is recommending that potentially affected patients monitor their health care accounts for any suspicious or unusual activity and carefully review their insurance claims and Explanation of Benefits documents for unfamiliar charges. If that review identifes something fraudulent, patients should notify their insurance company or their health care provider.
Ideal Home Care sincerely regrets that this incident occurred. Although the incident did not originate within Ideal Home Care's systems and was limited solely to Doctor Alliance's platform, Ideal Home Care is notifying all of its patients who may have been impacted by this incident. Ideal Home Care also has reported this incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, which is the federal agency that oversees the privacy and security of patient protected health information.
A dedicated call center also has been established to answer any questions Ideal Home Care patients may have about the incident. Patients who receive a letter or who believe they have been affected by the incident may call 1-877-697-2914 if they have questions.
