INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bid proposals will be received by City of Munroe Falls at the Office of the Mayor in the Municipal Building at 43 Munroe Falls Ave., Munroe Falls, Ohio, 44262 until 11:00 a.m. local time, on Friday, May 29, 2026, for the work designated below (the "Work"):
SR-91 EMERGENCY WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENTS
The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud, immediately thereafter. Each bid must contain the full name and names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties, and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio, and be accompanied by a certified or cashiers' check on a solvent bank made payable to the order of the City of Munroe Falls in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, or by a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, drawn in favor of the Clerk of the City of Munroe Falls.
Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex, national origin, or disability.
The contract documents including plans and specifications are available through the office of GPD Group by emailing mglass@gpdgroup.com and requesting FTP access for digital download only. The bid check or bid bond, as the case may be, will be held as a guarantee that, if the bid proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into between the bidder and the City of Munroe Falls, and if not, the amount represented thereby, shall be forfeited to the City of Munroe Falls as liquidated damages.
The chosen bidder must provide the following required documentation prior to contract execution: 1) Performance Bond in the amount or anticipated amount of the contract; 2) Evidence of General Liability Insurance from a company licensed by the State of Ohio in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for any accidental occurrence arising out of any act or omission by the Contract which causes bodily harm or property damage and shall cause the City to be named as an additional insured on the policy; and 3) Evidence of Workers' Compensation coverage.
The City of Munroe Falls reserves the right to consider criteria other than price, to reject any and all proposals and to waive any informality in the bids received, and to accept any bid, which it deems most favorable to the City.
The Engineer's opinion of probable cost for the project is $432,000.00 for the Base Bid and $58,000.00 for the Alternate Bid totaling $490,000.00. The City of Munroe Falls reserves the right to consider criteria other than price, to reject any and all proposals and to waive any informality in the bids received, and to accept any bid, which it deems most favorable to the City.
