RECEIPT OF BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the RAS LIFT STATION REHABILITATION are invited and will be received by the CITY OF ABINGDON (hereinafter referred to as Owner) at BRUNER, COOPER & ZUCK, INC., 188 EAST SIMMONS STREET, GALESBURG, IL 61401 on or before, but no later than 10:00 A.M. MAY 15, 2026, and immediately thereafter all Bids received will be publicly opened and the prices bid read aloud.
Sealed envelopes or packages containing Bids shall be marked or endorsed "BID FOR: RAS LIFT STATION REHABILITATION." No Bid will be considered unless it is made on the bid form which is included in the Project Manual.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The above designated work and improvements referred to as RAS LIFT STATION REHABILITATION, on which Bids are requested will include the following construction: Replacement of the pumps, rails, piping, and controls in the Return Activated Sludge lift station and adjacent valve vault. This will include bypass pumping.
BIDDING DOCUMENTS

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be ordered electronically online at www.bczengineering.com for a NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $25.00.

PREBID CONFERENCE
There will be no prebid conference for this project. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders such Addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising prior to 48 hours before the opening of Bids.
BID SECURITY
No Bid Bond required.
HOLDING OF BIDS
No Bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the Bids without the consent of the Owner, for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing Bids.
PREVAILING WAGE
The Contractor to whom an award shall be made pursuant to this procurement shall be subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Illinois acts commonly known as the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (IL Rev. Sta. Ch. 48, Secs. 2201-2207).
BONDS
A payment and performance bond are required in connection with this project. The payment bond shall specifically provide that the Principal must pay all sums of money due or to become due for any labor in accordance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, (IL Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sec. 39(s)-1-12).
AWARD OF CONTRACT
The Owner reserves the right to reject any Bid for failure to comply with all requirements of this notice or any of the Bidding Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to award a contract which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Owner.
