Johnston City Council Work Session Monday, December 1, 2025 1. Opening of Meeting A. Call to Order Mayor Dierenfeld called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. B. Roll Call Members present Tom Cope, James Evans, Rhonda Martin, Suresh Reddy, Bryan Burkhardt 2. Work Session Items A. Discussion on Reducing the Speed Limit on NW 107th Street Between 70th and 78th Avenue (20-25 Minutes) Public Works Director Matt Greiner reviewed traffic count and accident data, and provided an overview of speed limits within the city. B. Discussion on the FY2027 - FY2031 Staffing Plan (20 to 30 Minutes) City Administrator Mike Pogge-Weaver reviewed the proposed staffing plan and funding options. C. Animal Control Discussion (15-20 Minutes) Chief of Police Dennis McDaniel reviewed proposed changes to the animal control ordinances. Due to time constraints, the remainder of this discussion was moved to the end of the regular council meeting. 3. Agenda Review No items were reviewed. 4.
