3. Discussion Items
A. Trail Master Plan Review - 40 minutes
Parks and Recreation Director Geoff Hubbard introduced Jody Rader of HKGI who presented an overview of the draft Trail Master Plan and outlined next steps in the process. The Council thanked Rader for her time and effort on this project.
B. CLOSED SESSION- Pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(c) to Discuss Strategy with Counsel in Matters that are Presently in Litigation or Where Litigation is Imminent Where its Disclosure Would be Likely to Prejudice or Disadvantage the Position of the Governmental Body in that Litigation
Motion by James Evans, second by Suresh Reddy to enter into Closed Session.

D. City Administrator/Staff Comments
As there was time remaining, this item was covered during the Work Session instead of the Regular meeting.
City Administrator Mike Pogge-Weaver reminded the Council that the next meeting would be on March 23, as the March 16 meeting was rescheduled due to Spring Break conflicts.
E. City Council Comments
As there was time remaining, this item was covered during the Work Session instead of the Regular meeting.
Council Member Cope talked about the Iowa Public Television (IPTV) Legislative Breakfast, noting that he had a chance to speak with IPTV Executive Director Andrew Batt, who is also a Johnston resident and serves on the Park Board. He also talked about an upcoming documentary from IPTV about General Dodge, namesake of Camp Dodge.
Council Member Martin talked about the vibrancy and involvement of the members of the Park Board.
Mayor Dierenfeld talked about the appreciation expressed in relation to the Kosovo Independence celebrations held in February, including a visit in Johnston with the Deputy Foreign Minister, and an event held at the World Food Prize building.
