Amber Donghui Wang and Spencer Robert Born were married on November 28, 2025 on Pensacola Beach, just behind the home of Nancy and Fred Simmons. A reception followed in the family home. Attendees included twenty-five family members, each of whom played a pivotal role in the success of the wedding, including wedding planning and logistics by Christian and Riley Batts; child supervision by Sailor Dunne; hair and makeup for the bride by Lisa, Scout, Quinn, and Jude Dunne; wedding cake sculpting by Piper Dunne; and a dance performance by Emrie Foster-Nash. Ring bearers were Wolfgang Dunne and Seeger Nash. Flower girls were Erin Batts and Baez Nash. Further logistics were handled by Fred Simmons and Tom Dunne. Nancy Simmons, Spencer's mother, oversaw all planning and operations for the wedding.
The wedding ceremony was presided by Shelley Johnson, who read vows co-written by the couple and officiant, which, in addition to traditional wording, expressed the omnipotence of the Creator and vastness of nature alongside the plight and playfulness of the tiny sandpiper bird. Tim Spencer played guitar during the ceremony; The Cutting Board provided wedding coordination and catering; photography was provided by Kirsten McCall Photography; Weddings by Wanda provided floral arrangements, seating, and an arbor under which the couple were married on the beach. Attendees danced up the aisle at the ceremony's conclusion. The couple entered the reception to Islands in the Stream as sung by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.
Amber and Spencer met while they were both living and working in Shanghai in 2021. They will travel to Hawaii to celebrate their marriage.
