LEGAL NOTICE ADVERTISEMENT
Sealed bids for Bid #25-020 Riverchase Pump Station No. 1 Rehabilitation Project will be received by The City Clerk of the City of Hoover, Alabama, 100 Municipal Lane, Hoover, AL 35216, no later than 2:00 pm CT, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at Hoover City Hall. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:30 am CT on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the Building Inspections Conference Room at Hoover Public Safety Center, 2020 Valleydale Road, Hoover, AL, 35244. Site visit will follow.
A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City of Hoover in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the contract.
The Bid Specifications and Plan Set will be available for viewing at the Bid Specifications are available for viewing at the office of InSite Engineering, LLC or Online within the plan library at www.insiteengineering.org and/or The City Clerk of the City of Hoover, 100 Municipal Lane, Hoover, Alabama, 35216. Bid Specifications and Bid Proposal Forms are also available for view and download from the City's website at http://www.hooveralabama.gov/bids.aspx.
To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted completed on original proposal forms provided in the bid package. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the bid is delivered or the bid will not be considered. The City of Hoover reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the City's judgement, the best interests of the City will thereby be promoted.
The City of Hoover hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, gender, religion, age, disability, marital status or national origin in consideration for an award.
The attention of Bidders is called to the provisions of Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975 relating to Immigration Law compliance and documentation thereof (i.e. participation in the Federal E-Verify program). The successful Bidder will be required to sign a contract that includes the following provision related to Immigration: 'By signing this contract, the contracting parties affirm, for the duration of the agreement, that they will not violate federal immigration law or knowingly employ, hire for employment or continue to employ an unauthorized alien within the state of Alabama. Furthermore, a contracting party found to be in violation of this provision shall be deemed in breach of the agreement and shall be responsible for all damages resulting therefrom.'
