LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF ARLINGTON BYLAW AND ZONING BYLAW AMENDMENTS Pursuant to the provisions of Section 32 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws of Massachusetts, I Juliana H. Brazile, Town Clerk of the Town of Arlington, hereby give notice regarding amendments to the Zoning Bylaws adopted by Articles 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 43 under the Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting convened on April 28, 2025 which were approved by the Office of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth on October 2, 2025. For any amendment to the Zoning Bylaw, claims of invalidity by reasons of any defect in the procedure of adoption or amendment may only be made within 90 days of the second publication of this text on October 16, 2025. Article 26 amends 6.1.5 to add acceptable transportation demand management methods and decrease parking reduction requirements for smaller developments Article 27 deletes 5.8 Inland Wetland District clarifying Conservation Commission jurisdictional authority over wetlands protection Article 28 adds a definition for lot coverage Article 29 clarifies 6.1.10 standards for parking areas, driveways, and vegetated buffers in residential districts Article 30 eliminates bylaw duplications that remained following 2018 recodification but does not make substantive changes to zoning requirements Article 31 amends the Environmental Design Review applicability for certain properties abutting the Minuteman Bikeway and transfers special permit granting authority to the Zoning Board of Appeals Article 32 rezones listed parcels from B1 Neighborhood Office Business District parcels to B2A Major Business District and adds a new allowable use in the B2A district Article 33 updates the zoning map to reflect the changes approved in Article 32 Article 34 removes a date reference to the zoning map from the bylaw Article 35 updates the zoning map to reflect changes previously approved by Town Meeting Article 43 amends the public shade tree bylaw with additional provisions for tree selection, maintenance, and Town approval Copies of the complete text of the amendments may be obtained in the Office of the Town Clerk upon request or at arlingtonma.gov/town-governance/laws-and-regulations/town-bylaws or arlingtonma.gov/town-governance/laws-and-regulations/zoning-bylaws or reviewed at the Department of Planning & Community Development.
