LEGAL NOTICE ANNUAL ELECTION OF WASHINGTON HEIGHTS Fire District NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of Washington Heights Fire District in the Town of Middletown, County of Orange will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Washington Heights Fire District Fire Station located at 10 Ohio Place, Middletown, NY 10940 for the purposes of: 1) electing one commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing on January 1, 2026 and ending on December 31, 2030; and 2) electing one commissioner for a two (2) year term commencing on January 1, 2026 and ending on December 31, 2027. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that candidates for the office of Fire District Commissioner must be at least 18 years old and be residents of the Fire District. Candidates for the office of Commissioner shall file with the District Secretary at the address below no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025: a written statement containing the candidate's name, the specific term of office they are seeking (e.g. 5 year or 2 year), and a duly executed petition(s) subscribed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Fire District. Only those persons who are residents of the Washington Heights Fire District on or before November 10, 2025 and who are registered to vote with the Orange County Board of Elections on or before November 17, 2025 shall be eligible to vote in this election.
