REQUEST FOR BIDS # 26-003
COMMERCIAL APRON EXPANSION
AT THE GAINESVILLE REGIONAL AIRPORT
The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) is soliciting sealed bids for the "Commercial Apron Expansion" project. The "Commercial Apron Expansion" work shall include the construction of new concrete aircraft parking apron (approx. 5,000 SY), apron edge taxilane (approx. 3,000 SY) and vehicle service road (approx.. 700 SY) to include: earthwork, drainage work, P-154 subbase, lime rock base course, FAA P-306 and FAA P-501 concrete pavement, P-401, and new high mast lighting (foundation, pole, electrical work), eight new taxiway edge lights, pavement markings, seeding, sodding, and related work. The apron edge taxilane will be bid through separate Base Bids as a P-401 asphalt pavement section (Base Bid 2A) and a P-501 concrete pavement section (Base Bid 2B), with the intent of awarding the most economical section. The vehicle service road will be bid through separate Base Bids as a P-401 asphalt pavement section (Base Bid 3A) and a P-501 concrete pavement section (Base Bid 3B), with the intent of awarding the most economical section.

There will be no charge to obtain a set of the bid documents. Printed copies of documents will not be made available. PDF project plans and specification files, either on CD or sent via File Transfer will be made available.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid conference will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gainesville Regional Airport, Passenger Terminal Board Room, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609. Attendance by all prospective bidders is recommended since the project occurs in a secured part of the airport and a security escort is required for a site visit. An escorted site visit of the project areas will be conducted as part of the pre-bid conference. Additional site visits will be arranged after the pre-bid meeting. The meeting will be held in person and/or as a Teams meeting for anyone who wishes to attend virtually. Bids must be signed by an authorized official, enclosed in a sealed envelope or package clearly marked: "Project No. 26-003 Commercial Apron Expansion" and mailed or delivered to the Authority's Administrative Office, Gainesville Regional Airport, Attn: Chief Executive Officer, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Suite A, Gainesville, Florida 32609.
Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. May 20, 2026 and will be publicly opened at this time. The official clock is located in the Authority's Administrative Office. Bids received after 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, will not be considered.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are encouraged to participate. The contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA), in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, [select businesses, or disadvantaged business enterprises or airport concession disadvantaged business enterprises] will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or disability in consideration for an award.
GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids received in response to this Request for Bids as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport.
