TOWN OF GROTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that I, Robin Cargian, Tax Collector, have received the tax roll and warrant for the Town of Groton, New York, for the Year 2026. In-person payments or those deposited in the drop box at the Town Clerk's Office, 101 Conger Boulevard, Groton, NY, begin Jan 2nd and end March 31, 2026. Office hours are 8 AM to 4 PM, Mon through Friday, with extended hours of 8 AM to Noon on January 31st, and 8 AM to 6 PM on February 2nd. The date of mailed payments to Robin Cargian, Tax Collector, PO Box 36, Groton, NY 13073, will be determined by the postmark. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that taxes paid in full, or the installment payment made on or before February 2, 2026, will have no penalty added. All taxes received between Feb 3 and March 2, 2026, shall have 1% interest added. All taxes received between March 3 and March 31, 2026, shall have 2% interest added. Unpaid taxes will be returned to the Tompkins County Treasurer after March 31, 2026. Senior Citizens who qualify for the Senior Exemption or Enhanced STAR have an extended full payment deadline of Feb 9, 2026.
Tax bills coded as having an escrow account will be mailed to the banks for payment. Property owners who do not receive their tax bill(s) by the second week of January should notify the Tax Collector, as they will still be responsible for payment.
